13th REGIONAL ROCK MECHANICS SYMPOSIUM

Rock mechanics, which started to develop as a separate science in the early
1960s, has been an interdisciplinary subject by continuing its development in
recent years. The first of the National Rock Mechanics Symposiums was
organized by METU in 1986, and continued as a series of regional symposiums
with the 6th Symposium in 2002 and the last one was held in October 2018 in
Trabzon by KTU. KAYAMEK’2021, 13th Regional Rock Mechanics Symposium
will be held on 30 September-2 October 2021 in Isparta with SDU Mining
Engineering Department within the Turkish National Rock Mechanics
Association. The aim of this symposium is to share the researches in the field
of Rock Mechanics, to discuss the results in a scientific platform and to
increase the interdisciplinary cooperation. Scientific symposiums and
congresses are not only important for the academic community, but also for
engineers working in the related sector. In this respect, the symposium also
aims to enable external partners to share their experiences. For more
